Who Needs Video in Las Vegas

The city runs on hospitality, conventions, entertainment, and gaming. Each one puts video to a different use.

Resorts and hospitality

Hotels, restaurants, and venues sell an experience the guest has not had yet. Brand films and short social cuts show the room, the table, and the view.

Brand videos

Conventions and trade shows

Las Vegas hosts some of the country’s largest trade shows. Exhibitors need booth loops, product demos, and a recap to send out once the show closes.

Event videos

Live entertainment

Shows, residencies, and festivals compete for the same visitors. A sizzle reel or trailer gives people a reason to buy the ticket.

Sizzle reels

Gaming

Casinos, sportsbooks, and online gaming brands advertise under strict rules. A spot has to entertain and still pass compliance review.

Commercials

Sports and big events

With pro football, hockey, and basketball teams and a Formula 1 race in town, teams and sponsors want social content around every event.

Social media videos

Local companies

Home builders, clinics, law firms, and tech companies away from the tourist corridor use customer testimonials to win people who live here.

How a Project Moves Through Three Phases

  1. Pre-production

We learn your brand, audience, and objectives, develop the concept, and write the script. Storyboards go to you for approval. Casting, location scouting, scheduling, and permits are settled before the shoot.
  2. Production

Live-action projects are filmed on set or in a studio by a dedicated crew with professional lighting and sound, with our director keeping performances on brief. Animated projects go into animation and voiceover recording.
  3. Post-production

We edit the footage, add graphics, correct color, and mix the audio. You review and request revisions. Once it is right, we deliver final files in the format each platform needs.

Our process in detail

Filming in Las Vegas: Permits, Property, and Heat

Most of what visitors call Las Vegas is outside the City of Las Vegas, and much of the Strip is private property. Both facts shape a location plan.

Two permit offices

South of Sahara Avenue, which takes in most of the Strip, is unincorporated Clark County. North of it, including Downtown, is the City of Las Vegas. Each issues its own film permit.

County lead time

Clark County wants film permit applications at least 10 calendar days before the first day of filming, along with $1 million in liability insurance.

Casinos and resort sidewalks

Many sidewalks along the Strip belong to the hotels beside them, and casino floors are private. Filming there needs the property’s permission.

Desert locations

Red Rock Canyon is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and Lake Mead by the National Park Service. Valley of Fire is a state park. Each has to be contacted separately about filming.

Summer heat

Daytime highs sit above 100 degrees for most of the summer and can pass 110 in July. Exterior work moves to early morning and dusk, with shade for people and gear.

Convention weeks

Hotel rates and crew availability follow the convention calendar. CES in January, the NAB Show in April, and SEMA and the Formula 1 race in November are among the busiest weeks.

Drones

The Strip sits in controlled airspace around Harry Reid International Airport, so flights need FAA approval ahead of time. Clark County does not allow drones in residential areas on permitted shoots.

Nevada Film Office

State law requires productions to register with the Nevada Film Office, which is free. Nevada’s transferable tax credit starts at 15%, but only above $500,000 in in-state spending, a threshold most single-video projects do not reach.

Las Vegas Video Production: Questions and Answers

What is the price range for video production in Las Vegas?

Brandefy’s full-service projects begin at roughly $5,000 for a single video and go to $100,000 or more for multi-day productions or heavy animation. Crew size, shoot days, talent, locations, and animation are what move the number. We quote each project after a first conversation.

How much lead time do you need?

For a simple video, 2 to 4 weeks from kickoff to delivery. Most projects take 4 to 6 weeks, and campaigns run 12 or more. If the shoot needs a Clark County film permit, the application has to be in at least 10 calendar days before filming.

Where is your Las Vegas office?

At 6543 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89119, south of the Strip. Brandefy started in 2011 and has its headquarters in Santa Monica, California.

Who issues film permits for the Strip?

It depends on where you are standing. The Strip south of Sahara Avenue is in unincorporated Clark County, so the county film permit office handles it. North of Sahara, including Downtown, falls under the City of Las Vegas. We sort out the jurisdiction for each location during pre-production.

Can you film inside a casino or resort?

Yes, when the property agrees. Casino floors, hotel interiors, and many of the sidewalks in front of them are private property, so the resort decides whether and when filming can happen. Each property sets its own conditions, which is why we contact them early.

Can you cover our booth during a convention?

Yes. Event videos, booth footage, interviews, and recap reels are among the formats we produce. Each venue and show organizer decides what outside crews may do on the floor, so the earlier we know which show and which booth, the better.

How do you shoot outdoors in a Las Vegas summer?

Early and late. Summer highs run above 100 degrees and can pass 110, so exterior scenes are scheduled around sunrise and the last hour of light. Midday goes to interiors, and we plan shade, water, and cooling for people and equipment.

Are drones allowed over the Strip?

Only with FAA approval. The resort corridor is inside controlled airspace around Harry Reid International Airport, and a licensed Part 107 pilot has to obtain authorization before flying. Clark County also bars drones in residential areas on permitted shoots.

Does Nevada’s film tax credit cover commercials?

National and regional commercials are eligible for the state’s transferable tax credit, which starts at 15% of qualified Nevada costs. The production has to spend more than $500,000 in Nevada and at least 60% of its total budget in the state, so the credit mainly fits large campaigns.

How do we begin?

Send a few lines about the project through the quote form, or call (424) 835-0405. We follow up with a call, then a written proposal covering the idea, the timeline, and the cost.
